Peers,

We are looking for a suitable substitute for Stainless steel pipe (600# CL) which is used for biocide injection. This is opted as lightweight material. Would like to know the technical suitability of Aluminium or Titanium alloys (will check the commercial side later). Not sure how 6061-T6 or Titanium Grade 5 / 7 will fit as an option.

Pls share your experiences.

Not enough information for a viable answer.

What is the biocide?

What is pressure and temperature the material will be exposed to?

What is the pipe connect to, and in what manner? What fluids other than the biocide will be present?

Thanks Unclesyd and CoryPad.

Design pressure of the line is 10500kPa (Max operating pressure 9930kPa) and exposed to temp max 40deg C.

Biocide is Gluteraldehyde dosed with water. Connected to annulus or threaded tubing.

I would definitely go with Titanium.
