a question about boiler's thickness 4

There is a question " what would you do if you find for a boiler the leg (shell)'s thickness is not big enough?" Could you please help me with this question?

You mean not thick enough? Can you please come back with more specific information as to the type of boiler and your actual data (wall thickness and area affected)?

Will the boiler still blowdown or is it packed solid?
Is it corroded from the outside or inside?
If it looks like "button-tuck" upholstery its time to replace.
A scab patch is not a fix.
