Does anyone know why this menu option ( “Insert>Feature>Combine” ) is grey out and cannot be chosen?

I’m trying to combine and subtract two bodies and cannot do it.

Do you have 2 solid bodies in your part? That's the most obvious reason why the command would be greyed out. The "Merge Results" option is on by default when you create a feature - double check that you do in fact have multiple bodies.

Where do I need multiple bodies on an asssembly or a part document?

You need multiple bodies in a part document. Combine is not an assembly feature.

Multi-body parts use the Combine function.

Parts in an assy use the Join function.

I got it working, by this I meant by drawing two shapes in a part document but.... what about if you have the solid bodies in two different documents, how do you merge them outside an assembly?

How can I get two parts into a single part document? Please help!!
