Flipping columns in Excel
Flipping columns in Excel
(OP)
How do I flip a column. I don't mean to transpose from row to column or column to row, but say I have an array A1:A14, I want the values in A14 to be in A1, A13 in A2, A12 in A3, and so on.
How do I do this???
thanks.

RE: Flipping columns in Excel
I had this same problem. Here is how I solved it.
Lets say in column 'A' you have a list of data, starting in cell A1, and going through A10. What you need to do is in cell B1 type the number 1. In B2, the number 2. Effectively, you want to number your rows from top to bottom.
Now, select (highlight) both rows A and B. On the menu bar at the top, click on 'Data' and then click 'Sort'. Now select 'Column B' from the drop down list, and click on 'Descending' at the right. Click OK. The program sorts the data in column B, such the numbers start from 10 and go to 1. Your data in Column A follows.
You can also use this 'trick' if you have a ton of data points, with blank rows in between, and you want to get rid of the blank rows. Instead of numbering sequentially in column B, you number row A with a 1, and row B with a 2. Row C with a 1, row D with a 2, etc. Now sort column B with 'Ascending'...
I think you get the point...
