I am investigating using a short wing section extending outboard of the main wing for roll and pitch control in a gyrocopter.
The section would pivot at a point forward of its center of lift, and would have a 'trim tab' to control its angle of incidence in order to change lift in a cyclic fashion.

A model works okay in test on a Clark-Y section at 60 mph.

Has this been tried and found wanting?
I am concerned about stability (especially flapping) and the dynamic performance of the system.
