hi i'm not quite a professional yet, but i'm on my way i'm working on my thesis at Ryerson University in Toronto. And I'm trying to find information with re. to the price per/lb or the price/ton of steel in relation to other materials. if anyone can find anything let me know

Try contacting your local steel fabricators. They might be able to share current price lists of various shapes with you.
