Hi all,

I am wanting to perform some pin-type bearing tests per ASTM E238. I unfortunately dont have access to the templer extensometer suggested in the standards. Is there an alternative approach for measuring bearing deflection, ideally with a standard tensile extensometer?

Additionally, can the same grips used for pulling C(T) specimens be used for pin-type bearing tests?

Thanks
