Just like last year, and every B&PV Code edition, here's a link to the latest issue of WJ Sperko's ASME Section IX article, which contains a summary of changes of the ASME section IX 2021 edt.
WJ Sperko is a member of one of the sec IX committees and bi-annually posts this very useful article for those involved in welding, welding inspection, etc. to review all the changes to the new Sec IX issue, in a very well documented and easy to read way. Also visit his website for more interesting article and information on welding and ASME sec IX

Thank you thank you thank you Walter for removing this Frankenstein specification:

"If you don't have time to do the job right the first time, when are you going to find time to repair it?"

RE: Summary of changes to ASME Section IX 2021 - by WJ Sperko

The blow back on A5.36 was huge. AWS cancelled it in January of this year.

While it served a purpose for a welding engineer, the classification system was so complex, few people would ever remember what all the letters and digits represented.

RIP A5.36

Best regards - Al
