Is perturbation field same as perturbation theory?

Is perturbation field same as perturbation theory?

Is perturbation field same as perturbation theory?

(OP)
Context: "... The corresponding stress state of element e is obtained by the superposition of the six perturbation fields induced by the six unit strain field...."

When I google I get a lot of results for perturbation theory, but none for perturbation field. The topic is related to microstructures and material optimization (https://arxiv.org/abs/2012.01359).

RE: Is perturbation field same as perturbation theory?

"3D architected isotropic materials with tunable stiffness and buckling strength"

Sorry to be the one to have to say it, but anyone turning 'architect' into a verb deserves to be cancelled. It is the most egregious example of a most regrettable linguistic trend.

But to your point, the difference is the difference between 'field' and 'theory'. Language again.
I can only suggest more creative angles to try and crack google. Or buy a text on the subject.

"Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but they are not entitled to their own facts."

RE: Is perturbation field same as perturbation theory?

I engineered the widget... or, I architected the widget? First time I've used the term...

Rather than think climate change and the corona virus as science, think of it as the wrath of God. Feel any better?

RE: Is perturbation field same as perturbation theory?

If it helps you avoid such linguistic monstrosities, recall that Ivanka T. has used it. And no one wants to emulate her.
