I review and work with masonry contractors, civil engineering and architectural firms applying the ADA and the FHA to construction plans and work sites.
Generally I create level landings at every walkway intersection, ramps, steps, upper and lower landings.

It has been a lot easier for the masons to just screed at 1.5% at each perpendicular entry to the intersecting landing areas. The problem happens because you can go up to 5% on a walkways, but as soon as you change in direction at one intersecting point in a walkway, and because the accessible routes need to maintain less than 2.1% cross slopes continuously the change in direction landings become problems that can exceed the 2.1% maximum continuous cross slope for any walkway.

You are also required to provides seamless continuous accessible routes with approach spaces,to Mail Cluster boxes, dumpsters, parking areas, and other commonly used elements or facilities.
