show/hide datum axis

show/hide datum axis

show/hide datum axis

Hi all,

am new to UG NX. In part model, to dimension a sketch entity from cylinder axis, i need to show axis to take it as reference. how to show/hide axis?

RE: show/hide datum axis

You need to put the axis in the reference set model (in your 3D part).
Reference sets are used to Show or hide Geometry in views.

If you go to the "reference Set" menu (Don't know exactly where it is from head, but you can find it using the command finder)you see a number of reference sets.

  • Model
  • Empty
  • Full
If you select from that menu the ref set Model you will see which geometry is in there.
You can then select you axis to add it to that reference set. Now it will show on your drawing as well. Drawings, out of the box, will show everything which is in ref set Model.
Take into mind that you also need to make the Axis layer visible in view.

White Paper - Design for Additive Manufacturing
With a growing number of parts manufactured directly by additive manufacturing techniques, it is important to lay down design principles suitable for such manufacturing processes and to ensure parts are designed for additive manufacturing. There are several factors that are to be considered at the design stage. Few such design issues in additive manufacturing are discussed in this paper. Download Now
