Does the hydrotest include piping systems that will be connected to the final product?

Hello,

I am designing a pressure vessel according to Division 1 rules that will eventually be fed steam via a piping system. Does the hydrotest require that the piping be included, or can that be tested independently? Nothing is said about piping in UG-99.

Thanks.

Piping can be done apart from vessel....use piping code for hydrotest of piping spools. I can recall only one or two times we did entire vessel plus piping for hydro, majority (hundreds) of vessels hydrotested on their own.
See U-1(e) for what is included in scope of vessel (Sec. VIII Div.1)

Forgot to mention, the requirements for testing piping along with vessel would be found in piping code.

Since the vessel and piping are designed using different ASME Codes, the testings should be followed accordingly for the Code compliance.

Thank you for your replies, I appreciate the help.
