RE: Can SAP2000 design these concrete members?

Dear OMG,
I tested a very simple case of a continuos beam with
variable (linear) section. The bending moments are very
accurate but when I asked to design the beam SAP shows me
the reinforcement only for the rectangular cross section.

Shortly: I tried but I have no results for the design of such type of concrete design :(

Best regards,
Dan

RE: Can SAP2000 design these concrete members?

Dear Dan,

Do you mean SAP gives reinforcement for each variable bxd rectangular section along the beam, or does SAP make some averaging and makes up a non-existence section size?

Thanks,
Max

RE: Can SAP2000 design these concrete members?

i think that sap2000 is idle at concrete design and cheks
you can use it for analysig only and design of steel members.
and you can use any program to design concrete members with code of country you live in
