904 Stainless... Can you Cut with a Laser successfully?

That pretty much covers my concerns... Have available a 6k CO2 Laser.
It's thin, maybe 3/16" thick. I've read "High Purity" and that seems good to me when Laser cutting.
Also read high Nickel, not sure if that's a good thing or not.

Anyone have any experience?

We cut a bunch of 409 11 ga stainless with our Amada 4020 and we don't change a thing as far as cut conditions and it looks great.

Really need to know about 904, not 409.

RE: 904 Stainless... Can you Cut with a Laser successfully?

We have cut 904 with our FO-3015NT before. we now stick strictly to 304 due to cost and use of the parts. we did 10 gauge and 16 gauge though and it was pretty clean
