Adhesive splice of urethane timing belt w/reinforce cables

(OP)
Looking for an adhesive/clamp type splice to form an endless belt.  Need low profile splice.

Belt: Urethane 7/8 pitch timing belt x 2" wide with 29 .0355" steel reforcing wires.

Belt breaking strength 6,000 lbs.

Currnetly stripping ends of urethane belt to expose wires and using pinned steel clamping hinge with 2 part epoxy adhesive (Hernon Fusion Bond #372F) to clamp wires in steel splice hinge.

Can achieve 75% strength.

Need help with prep procedure and epoxy application procedure. Any other suggestion would help.

Thanks
