Dock design load reference?

I need to design a dock for smaller, freshwater recreational watercraft. It will be located on the Erie Canal in upstate NY (low wind and wave forces). It will likely be treated wood or steel piles with treated wood deck structure. Can anyone refer me to a good resource for determining the design loading (forces) on the dock for use in design? Thank you.

Here are two pieces of information on small docks that may have the information needed or a reference to same. Depending on the location of your dock make sure you have all the permits and approvals.

I did a small boat dock for the US Navy in the Tinian Islands about 25 years ago and used a NAVFAC manual for the wave loads. I can't remember the number, but you might look there.
