RE: Time history analysis

A time history is a specific event, usually displacement vs time.  From this, of course, the velocity and acceleration of the element may be found.  A response spectrum is far more general has it describes the response of a single degree of freedom to an event (such as a time history) for that elements period or frequency.

RE: Time history analysis

Time history analysis at sap2000 acc. versus time steps.
I think we can say that response spectrum curve is simplified time history datas according to the soil types. Also we can define reponse spectrum case is a response
of a structures against earthquake acc.
