Rectangular Vessel & Components

Hi all,

A pair of questions to compress users,

1/ IS it possible to design rectangular vessels according to ASME with COMPRESS software?

2/ IS it possible to design single elements like flanges?

Thank you in advance

RE: Rectangular Vessel & Components

Hello Juanan,

1/ COMPRESS does not offer option for design of rectangular vessels. There are no current plans to include this feature in COMPRESS.

2/ Yes, you can design "single" elements. You can design components such as heads, cylinders, and transitions, etc. Flanges designed according to Appendix 2 may also be designed as the "single" element in the COMPRESS file.

Thank you very much Tom

Is possible to design a flange according to Div 1 as a 'single' element? Without attaching it at any other elemnent?

Thank you and regards

RE: Rectangular Vessel & Components

Yes. You can design an Appendix 2 flange as the single component in the file.

Hello !
I'm not sure about compress soft ware is available for nozzle load calculation with WRC 107 for the nozzle on Top head (Bliend Cover).
Could you let me know how to input nozzle load in this case.
