Schedule vs Class of fitting

Schedule vs Class of fitting

Schedule vs Class of fitting

(OP)
If I could get any information on pressure ratings of threaded fittings. They are given as a class designation and what I understand this classification is not the pressure rating.eg: 2000#, 3000#.

Also in B16.11 table 2 the way I understand is the class of fitting is derived by the schedule of pipe required for a particular pressure and service. I need to know where there is more information on this subject.

You already have the answer in hand.  The fitting has the same pressure-temperature as the matching pipe, and table 2 tells you what the matching pipe is for each class, depending upon whether the fitting is threaded or socket weld.  To calculate the rating of the fitting, you would have to calculate the maximum allowable pressure for the pipe, per the applicable piping code.  But that is not how it is done.  You would determine what schedule pipe is required for the service, and select the appropriate fitting.

RE: Schedule vs Class of fitting

See B16.11 for forged threaded fittings, the table specify their pressure at the design temperature.
for pipe, you have to calculate.
