Laser Welding Aluminum, Weld Section

(OP)
Hello,
We are laser welding al4032 cover plates to al6061T6 housings for electronics enclosures. I'd like to adjust the weld profile (x-sec) from a triangular shape to more of a curved 'v' (like an upside down pup tent) shape while retaining the same penetration and joint width. Varying the parameters to adjust between keyholing and conduction modes seems to change the penetration/joint width, but not profile geometry. Recent attempts to move the focus below the cover surface didn't really do anything to the profile, but I'm still working on it...
Any suggestions? Thx
