Hi
Can someone please provide information about the ZFB test kits ? These were old methods to test the relays i believe. But i would really appreciate if someone could provide information on different methods to test relays including the ZFB test kit ?

Thanks.

I've used a ZFB test set in the past. It is made up of four very heavy boxes - and used to test the reach of Distance relays.

It was made by GEC - you might be able to get some information from your local Areva agent (GEC's latest name).

GEC used to put instructions for using the ZFB in their distance relay manuals - for example the Quadrahmo.

These instructions are quite easy to follow and apply to any distance relay type.

However compared to the test sets used today, testing a relay using this set is very slow.

thanks discoP for replying. I am still lokking for an application note where information is given about the ZFB testing kit but i am unable to find any till now. Do you know of a weblink where the information is given ?

thanks.

The areva website is however as it is no longer available I'd doubt you will be able to get the information that way.

If you don't know who your local Areva (or Alstom) supplier is - try and send them an e-mail request

The ZFB instructions publication should have exactly what you need.
