I have been looking at drawings all day and I seem to be having a brain cramp here. I am looking at a double angle in tension, L6x6x7/16, bolted to a gusset plate. The L6x6x7/16 is bolted to the gusset plate with two rows of three bolts in one leg obviously. If for example, you use the suggested workable gages to place your bolts, the centroid of the angle will obviously not coincide with the centroid of your bolts. So assuming you line the centroid of the double angle up to pass through your working point, the centroid of your bolts will not. If you have already considered shear lag in your tension rupture calculation, do you have to also consider eccentricity on the bolt group. Or is it the centroid of your bolts that should pass through your working point?
