I haven't done a whole lot of studwall design, and I am trying to check an existing studwall that will be carrying addtional new loading. I understand that the sheathing will brace the stud in the minor axis for buckling (with an unbraced length equal to the fastening spacing, but can you count on that for major axis (out of plane) buckling also? Or would the unbraced length in that direction be from the sill plate to the floor framing? Thank you very much for the help.
