Hello everybody,
Recently, I am trying to analyse wooden structures using Sap 2000. But I , actually, need your help since it requires a number of standard mechanical properties regarding wood species. So, where I can get those standards?!
Thanks in Advance!

If you're in the US, look to thr NDS wood specification.

I like to debate structural engineering theory -- a lot. If I challenge you on something, know that I'm doing so because I respect your opinion enough to either change it or adopt it.

Be careful using FPLs Wood Handbook. If I remember correctly, the properties in some (all) of there tables are based on clear, straight grained wood, not graded lumber. Graded lumber used in construction has defects. The Wood Handbook probably includes some discussion on the difference.

In the wood handbook in chapter 4 of the 74 version and I believe chapter 5 of the 2010 version. There are two pages devoted to the deletorous effects of Knots, and reduction in properties accordingly.

You are judged not by what you know, but by what you can do.
