Hi
Do you have any suggestions on books/online classes about wood shear walls design, possibly with design examples?
Thank you

Breyer - "Design of Wood Structures"
Pretty much tons of resources if you google "NDS Shear wall Design"

I feel that this is the best publication currently available for wood shear walls, by a large margin. There's even a fancy new edition now with some fancy new tricks.

I certainly agree that this is the best book for the "unusual" situations. Very thorough and logical procedures for the cases we look at and say, "how am I going to handle that!?".

However, for basic shear wall design, I think it's way, way, way too complicated. Honestly, I feel like the NDS Special Design Provisions for Wind and Seismic is really quite good for the basics. Same thing with the Breyer book.

Yeah SDPWS is the best resource for the basics and simple designs. I'm pretty sure you can find the NDS webinars right on YouTube and they do a great job of going thru examples.
