Wood Chip Boiler Controls

Need some information on the devices typically used to control fans, etc on a wood chip boiler. Working on a unit now that has old Italian "ERO" controllers but not sure what they do, and can't get any information on them. They have digital connections to a PLC. Many thanks!!
