I was wondering if someone could clarify if I am visualizing the load path correctly for the attached endwall section. This is a mini storage building so the shear wall is at the center of the building. Is it correct to assume that the double top plate is the tension chord that transfers the horizonal wind to the roof diaphragm.

If you have clips to bring the load to the top plates. Usually I would use a rim joist, which has appropriate splices for the chord force.

The end wall studs transfer the wind load to the end wall double top plate, and the connection from the top plate to the rafters transfers the force to the rafters, then into the roof diaphragm due to the nailing of the diaphragm to the rafters.
