Hi all it is a POLL .

Would you please give the razon you draw in scale in ACAD.?

One of the most valuable feature of acad is the ability to draw in real unit just from intermolecular distance to stars distance .
One example is a old cad drawing named SOLAR
It come with the 1.2 versión , I got it by the year 91 on version 2.6.
On this drawing you can see all the solar system with all it's planet , the earth , it's moon , the moon lander and a small plaquet where the name the 3 austronaut that reach the moon by the firt time.
It can be downloadaed from this site

In todays ACAD, their isn't a reason to draw in scale, with the exception of not knowing how to use paper space/layouts. Whenever you draw in scale, as opposed to drawing 1:1 units, there is increased chance for error with the conversion factors.

I think that is the main razon

with the exception of not knowing how to use paper space/layouts

But the old way using paper could be the first.

The other reason to draw to scale is many programs will convert the dxf file to g-code for input into a cnc machine.

I want to clarify my question.

Of course drawing 1=1 is the best.

BUT WHY SOME DRAFTER DRAW IN NOT 1=1 SCALE?????

pardal - In my opinion, the only reason some draftspeople draw to scale is ignorance of the way AutoCAD works, or perhaps old manual drafting habits that die hard.

that is true
