Hello,

Normally this is used in the bike industry (fork). This is what I need to reduce my "workshop time"

Now we're welding inserts into a tube, but that's too much labor... So where can I find these "Starflanged nuts"? in all kind of sizes? or is it just made for the bike industry?

For a picture.

Kind regards.

I think those are the truly evil devices used to preload the headstock bearings, in modern handlebars?

I think, and hope, you'll only find them in bicycle sizes.

For the non initiates, you push them down inside the aluminium tube, and then put a bolt in from underneath (in the photo's orientation), then torque the bolt up, which spreads the spring steel star washer out into the tube.

Cheers

Qube, click on the link below and enter the word "star" in the search box, then hit return. You will find a variety of starflanged nut sizes available for purchase.

Have you thought about using tolerance rings instead. There used widley in the automotive industry as a fail safe for a steering coloumn lock. They grip onto the two shafts like a a starflanged nut, but are much more reliable anbd less faffy
