Hi everyone,

I'm looking to find yet another rare part. See pic attached.

This is a 3 hole pipe clamp out of 316SS. It could be aluminum as well (6061, 6063 or other alloy).

Can you direct me to places where you think I'm likely to find this part? The hole in the top is not a must (we can buy the clamp with two holes in the sides and drill the hole in our workshop)

The dimensions are roughly:
2.5 in length
.8 in wide
.8 in center curve radius

Thanks.

I just realized that the pic attached to the first post is wrong.

This is the side view of the clamp.

I will post the top view next. (I don't know how to attach multiple images to a post)

Maybe Google "pipe clamps"??

Almost looks like something from Harbor Freight or Restoration Hardware??

Good Luck

Looks like a clamp from a hot tap, or even a conduit clip, for that matter.

It is better to have enough ideas for some of them to be wrong, than to be always right by having no ideas at all.

That's just a pipe clamp. You can get them off-the-shelf at any plumbers supply house. Try to google it online.

Cockroach

I am not sure but this may be from the Band-it clamping range

Hmm, if only there were some kind of online catalog to look through, like this one. ;-)

(Not sure they have the material you want in the size you need but there are plenty of places like this as alluded to by others above.)

What about ‘Parts Is Us’? Or talk to the people who originally installed it, or installed or manufacture the equipment it is associated with. Why the special features and shaping, what does this do for you?

@dhengr: I had not realized there was anything special about this part until I conducted a market search which included most if not all of the places that people have posted above (thanks for the input guys!)

It looks like a pretty commonplace pipe clamp-half, except I can't find anyone who makes this with 3 holes (maybe the 3rd hole was drilled but it has a special groove around the center hole which makes me think it was made that way). Also I need this in 316 SS or Aluminum, because it will be used to attach a storage tube to stanchions of various diameters on sailing yachts.

Check out the split ring hanger clamps at McMaster-Carr

@DAVIDSTECKER: I need them in 316SS or aluminum. 304SS will not survive on a boat.

Have you tried a boat chandlers?

Try West Marine !
B.E.

The good engineer does not need to memorize every formula; he just needs to know where he can find them when he needs them. Old professor

@Berkshire: West Marine was the first place I checked out. No dice. They also happen to be our primary retailer.

@KENAT: D'uuuh @ myself. Thanks tho.
