The file is a rather large and is a bill acceptor assembly with many parts. I have opened a similar IGES file of 72 Mb and it worked fine. Took about 10 - 15 minutes to complete. I closed all other running applications to free computer resources. Any ideas why this particular file wont work? Thanks, Nick

Can you post this file somewhere so that I can download it and try it out?

I solved my problem in an unconventional way. I opened the IGES part in Solidworks, then converted it to STEP format, then opened the STEP file in ProE and it worked. If you would still like to try and open it on your computer I would be willing to post in a newsgroup such as alt.binaries.warez.autocad. Let me know if you would like to try it. Thanks,

Nick

I open iges files in the 200 to 300 meg range without problems.

I could try and open it for you if you want.

It may be your hardware, I have a 1.8 p4 with a gig of ram and 128 meg video card. Its nothing spectacular but it seems to do the trick.
