Hi there folks. I wonder what this part is? (Attached pic). It came from a laboratory close down dedicated to laser R&D. It seems to me a kind of sensor in 1000nm range (since it has a "1000" written at some places? It seems to be built to withstand a nuke (vacuum chamber ready?). It weights 15.65oz and it has a kind of fiber optic coupler at one side. The window has yellowish coating confronted to light... what would be the technical name for this thing?

Thank you in advance...

That makes sense - that connector has what looks a lot like a ceramic insert that I would expect for a high-voltage connection.

Wow. Where do people like you emerge from? Aliens didn't make life easy for the rest of us. That seems spot on! Thank you!

I'll take the star ;-) but for full transparency,, I used Google image search; it's hit rate is only around 35%, but this was one of them.

Pfff... that was not so brainful. Ha! Grateful indeed. I tried the same and I had no success. Typical. :)
