Good morning everybody.
In the project I am working in we are planning to use a CVT transmission (it is not automotive). We need to pump its special oil through a cooler and throw it back to the contacting surfaces in order for reject the heat generated durting its operation.
But, as this type of oil has the property of get harder (Should I say "solid"?) under high contact pressures, I am fearous to use ordinary centrifugal pumps, because the contact pressure in the oil seals or in any other region would be enough to make the oil hard and block the pump.
I imagine the situation would be worst using displacement pumps, in which some portions of oil may be at high pressures between piston rings and seat valves, in example.
Searching on the Web for CVTs, I found some Japanese automobile manufacturers highlighting the pumps inside it. But I don´t want to be restricted to these OEM parts, which should be too more expensive. I also imagine the Japs would not give me information about oil flow rate as function of rotary speed.
