Please fellow surveyor, I'm currently working on a research proposal. Hence, can someone itemise and explain the role of a Land Surveyor in a Quarry and Mining site. If possile in a form of a term paper and all link will be welcome. Thanks

The surveyor will model existing grade before mining begins. Then the surveyor will model the site after the material has been taken. The difference is the volume mined.
 
@IRstuff, it is not for a school. Sort of a mini business proposal. I am trying to help a friend out.

They also provide UTM coordinates for mining proper as well as for buildings associated with mines, roads, etc.
