What is pressure pulsations? 1

hi,
i am new to Piping vibration. Our company sub contracted the pulsation study. regarding this i want to know the following:

Could any body explain me what is Pressure Pulsation?
i tried in net, every where people are talking about to control pressue pulsation. but i want to know, what is pressure pulsation?

Pressure pulsations are fluctuations in pressure. They can occur with a regular frequency, like from a positive displacement pump, or they can occur at somewhat randon times, like the closing of a valve. Google "pressure pulse" and "pressure pulsation".
