Sorry for posting a non-technical type question, but have a problem I'm hoping someone out there who buys / makes heat exchangers can help with. Our refinery runs 24/7/365 and any disruption is very costly in lost production. We have developed a leak in an exchanger that was made by A.M. Cuellar Engineering & Manufacturing Co., Inc. of Sugarland, Texas (P.O. Box 309, zip 77478).
Our equipment file / drawings are incomplete for building a new bundle off of. For now, we have been able to vary the pressure on the system so that the exchanger leaks on-spec oil into feed oil and doesn't cause us to much process headache for now, but this will only work for so long. We will come down and plug if we have to but would prefer to have a bundle sitting on-site and ready to go.
I believe A.M. Cuellar must have gone out of business in the mid 1980's...does anyone know who might have bought them out or have their archive drawings? If we can locate these drawings, we can duplicate the bundle.
Nope, can't take time to shut down, clear system, blind out and measure bundle...we could easily pay out an entire new exchanger purchase and install on down time alone.
Thanks for your time and any help you can offer.
