welding - theory 1

information regarding welding theory is needed.
how to calculate forces/tourqes when using welding to attach to piece of metal such as Aluminium to Aluminium.
how does one decide how much to weld (2mm , 3mm ....), should we weld on all sides of the profile or maybe it is enough to weld just some of them etc...
the information is needed asap and would be more than appritiated.
also, if you know a good website on this subject i'd be thankful.
