I know that rebar welding is not highly reccommended but i have a job that welding will be the only solution. using #10 A706 i need to lap 8 in. and join to #10 A615. what i have been advised to do, pre heat to apprx 500 deg. and use a E80C-Ni1 or 2 electrode. Does this sound reasonable and will it meet bldg code.
