Hello All,

I have a question about the B31.3 and B31.12.

I would like to know the mainly difference concerning the welding ? Are there any supplementary requirements with B31.12 ? (about WPS/PQR/fabrication)

Thanks a lot for your support,

Best Regards

Have you looked at both standards and compared them on this subject? If so, what are your specific questions?

Hi XL83NL,

Thanks for your return,

Yes I compare the both standards, I just see one difference concerning pre-heat.

In B31.12 minimum temperature required is 80 degrees for any thickness.

It’s different Witch B31.3.

Do you know if are there otherd différents ?

Thanks for your support

Not from the top of my head. It would require me and perhaps other members as well the same effort as you would have to take.
Thing is, our time may be free of charge, we’re not consultants free of charge here. Best for your own learning curve would be to compare para 328 with (what I could hink would be) 1228, although the code organisation of B31.12 is slightly different and. I don’t have my copy of B31.12 at hand right now.

You should compare 328 with GR-3.2 and, where applicable, either the chapters from IP (such as IP-5.2 and IP-9.6) or PL
