FCAW welder qualified using UT,can be used to weld in production.

If you are using ASME Section IX, please read QW-304, QW-191.2.

QW 191.2- The ultrasonic examination in for welders and for welding operators may be conducted on test welds in material 1/2" thick or greater.

I need minimum thickness 1/2" to qualify welder by u.t.

ASME IX 2017 is now 1/4" (6 mm) minimum for UT
