where can I get good advice to solve water hammer problems?

Just one comment on your referenced website.
It refers to quick closing valves.
What is quick closing really relates to the length of pipe up or downstream from the disturbance.
Considering the sound speed for a liquid as relatively hign compared to the local fluid velocity
-- a quick closing valve is one that closes in a time less than or equal to
2L/c
where L would be the length upstream of the valve and c, the sonic velocity of the liquid.
