Hello Guys,

Can anyone please guide me how to calculate the water consumption if we have total steam production figure available? Thanks

I think that, in boiler operation, the feedwater flow is measured and the steam flow is calculated therefrom.

You could ask in a more appropriate forum...

Marine propulsion boilers (D-type water tube) measure steam flow as part of the 3 element drum level control system. The other two elements are drum level and drum pressure.

But no, you cannot estimate water consumption based on steam output. There are too many processes that consume water including blow down, burner atomization, and system leaks.
