I have a situation where the W column section has a small horizontal point load (<5K) on the web. The load is within a few inches of the column centreline. Does anyone have or can anyone recommend an article that provides a yield line solution for this problem? Thanks

Does the AISC Manual Figure 9-5(a) / Eq. 9-31 do the trick?

Thanks... that will do it.

I suspect that this (attachment) is the same information that 271828 suggested but, hey, more reference material is usually better right? I dealt with this just last week and, so, had it readily at hand. I know that you're a devotee of YLM so this ought to be right up your alley. I see an SMath spreadsheet in your future...
