This device is made by Panasonic and the various voltage versions seem to be rated at 2A max output current. The main difference between the AN78xx and the AN78xxF is that the F version package only has a maximum power dissipation of 10.25W compared to 15W for the non-F version.
I viewed the data sheet at - but you have to register. You shpuld be able to get it directly from the Matsushita/Panasonic site.
