I have a fan-motor assembly that I would like to know the vibration characteristics. How would I set up the analysis?

My company has customers that have requirements such as the fan-motor, at certain points, cannot move more than 1 in/sec. That is just an example.

Thanks,

Tim

First, complete a modal analysis. This will give you a good idea of how your assembly will react in a dynamic environment. Other than that, what do you mean by "vibration characteristics"?

For actual deflections, you'll need to get some test data, or assume some input to the system or something....
