i need to design a variable frequency mechanically powered test bed for vibration testing of electronic printed circuit boards after components are mounted. the system should be capable of varying frequency up to 3000Hz with an amplitude from 0 - 3 mm . motion should be harmonic.

im thinking maybe a table with a cam on one side and a spring on the other, how will i run this cam, wat type of motor do i need. also the table is going to move horizontallly so im goin to have it moving on sum sort of bearings,
