Hi guys,

I got to estimate the vibration levels from a train to a appartment building. The building is 4 stories high and standing 20m from the track's center and it's soft ground, clay, between the track and the building. The track is laying on filling, 3m high. The filling is very probably a blanding of stones of different diameters.

I know how to calculate vibration from train in tunnels, but don't know how to do it when the train is on surface and more over travelling on filling. Do anyone know how to solve this or where I could find info?

Thanks,
OkdB

Dear friend
take a look to federal transit administration (fta) website

Luck

Thanks Mpino,

I've found something in FTA's website. Theres's an approximate method in Chapter 10 of the Transit Noise & Vibration Impact Assessment manual:

hope this can help others with similar problems.
