What is a reasonable cost per hour for MIL-STD-810 vibration testing? I assume that hourly rates typically decrease as total test time goes up. I have a project that requires 15 hrs vibe (5 hrs/axis). My UUT is small and weighs less than 20lbs. All fixturing and cabling will be provided by me.

When we go to an outside vibration lab, a rough estimate they use is $3000 per day.

If you had an internal lab that could do it, I'd guess their burn rate at about $100 per hour, in the US. (Note this is a very broad statement).

Without knowing the details of your setup, I would estimate 8 hours per axis if everything is easy. That includes setup and paperwork.

I'm at a small company, and we rely on outside testing labs for most of our environmental testing. Thanks for the input.
