U-1 Scope says that the vessels are exempt for provisions of the code if they fall under certain guidelines one of which is:
(c) (2) Based on the Committee’s consideration, the following classes of vessels are not included in the scope of this Division …..
(-h) vessels not exceeding the design pressure (see 3-2), at the top of the vessel, limitations below, with no limitation on size [see UG-28(f), 9-1(c)]:
(-1) vessels having an internal or external pressure not exceeding 15 psi (100 kPa);
I assume this is gauge pressure because if it were absolute then it is effectively saying that a vessel with any internal pressure is subject to the code.
Am I interpreting this correctly?
