Hello,

I am working on a project where we have to perform vertical grouting along the height against the existing concrete. The pdf is attached along with. The total height of the cross section is 75ft. Considering the space we have we selected Sika 212 HP grout. The designer has designed the embedded parts for 2m liquid head of water. My main question here: is there any reference available i can based my rate of pour along the height especially for grouts. I do have ACI 347R-14 but its mainly for concreting with slumps less than 7inch. I also have references for Self consolidating concrete but don't find any literature related to grouting. Would like to hear rom experts here on this forum.

What i am thinking , if the inital set of grout is 6 hrs( approx.) then i have to perform grouting at 1ft per hr to respect 2m ( 6ft) of design requirement . Let me know your thoughts.

Will you pls be more specific for the design ? the cross section area ( red painted on the sketch ) is a very small area and the total force developing on the sides will be small ,very limited..

I would prefer shoring the side plates with yokes and concreting the whole height at three shots etc..
 
Hi Hturkak,

The pressure is function of liquid head and not the width. Hence if i do in three shots according to you , i am developing pressure of 75/3* 94lbs/ft3=2350lbs/ft2 > 2m (6ft x 94lbs/ft3=564lb/ft2. hence i don't meet the design requirement.
 
Pressure is also a function of density. You mentioned water head so your permissible grout head will be much lower.
